I know it's been a while since I've updated my blog...I warned you and I took my 6 months off seriously! LOL
I want to thank you for all of the supportive e-mails, comments, phone calls, etc that I have received since surgery. It makes me so happy that I was open about it all and was able to help so many people who have struggled with the same decisions I was faced with...I'm humbled that I have inspired or helped anyone by sharing my story and thoughts.
Things are going really well. I survived my 40th birthday with a smile on my face, surgery was successful and I am finally fully healed and I feel my old happy self coming back! I'm down about 44 pounds so far, which I think it a little slower than average for the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy probably because I had not been walking as much as I should have, BUT this is not a race and I am dealing with my back healing as well. I'm taking it at my own pace and doing what my herniated discs can handle. Baby steps and with every pound off, it gets easier to move. I have been allowed to take one Aleve gel Cap a day as of 5 weeks ago (pre-surgery I was taking 2-3 per day just to be able to function) and I have only really needed to take one 5 times in the last 5 weeks...this amazes me and proves that I have made the right decision for me : )
I can honestly say I feel GREAT...which I haven't been able to say in YEARS!
I have just been cleared to do more than just walking and am planning on a little ZUMBA!! wooohoooo!
I'm SO excited to get back to work! I start this week with a trip to England to teach at the Creative Heart and Soul retreat...teaching along side some of my good friends Lida DeWitte, Tracie Hudson and Monique Jacobs! I can't wait!
Also, I'm on a booking FRENZY. I've updated my teaching schedule on the right sidebar and will be adding a lot more over the next week. Most of the stores starting in July won't have the specific class info posted yet because I am working on several new classes this week...all info should be up soon!
